I know! You can find a Chex Mix recipe on any Chex cereal box, especially during the holidays. However, this one is my favorite version, probably because it’s the one I enjoyed growing up in the 60s. I like to serve it as a snack at parties or during the holidays.
1/2 C (1 stick) butter
1-1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
4-1/2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
2-2/3 C Corn Chex
2-2/3 C Rice Chex
2-2/3 C Wheat Chex
1 C salted mixed nuts
Preheat oven to 250F.
Melt butter in preheated oven in a large baking pan (keep an eye on it — DON’T LET IT BURN!).
Remove pan from oven; stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire Sauce. Gradually add cereal and nuts, stirring until entire mix is evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes.
VARIATION: You could use 8 cups of any cereal. I usually use 6 cups Chex cereal and 2 cups Cheerios, plus a handful or so of pretzel sticks. My mom likes to add Goldfish crackers.
